Administrative Assistant Intern

MSH Uganda is seeking the services of an Administrative Assistant Intern. He/she will be required to perform a range of administrative and office support functions facilitating the efficient operation of the country office. The Administrative Assistant Intern will report to the Country Representative.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Handle incoming and outgoing written correspondence, providing prompt responses and forwarding to appropriate staff member where necessary.
2. Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, scanning and mailing.
3. Handle requests for information and data and follow up with appropriate staff members.
4. Filing correspondences and maintenance of office space and perform other duties specifically around coordination of special events, or as assigned.
5. Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for staff members.
6. Manage office supply inventories and coordinate maintenance of office equipment.
7. Ensure staff are notified in a timely manner of upcoming deadlines.
8. Work closely with Front desk officers and other COMU staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social sciences
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills
• Detail oriented and committed to meeting deadlines
• Good interpersonal skills Works well independently and as part of a team
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to problem-solve in a fast paced work environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner
• Must be dependable and punctual
• Be courteous and personable when dealing with the public
• Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented
• Respect and maintain confidentiality of MSH partners, and donors


This position requires a minimum 6 month commitment. Flexible schedule for an average of 40 hours
